Uerige Alt

Uerige, Düsseldorf, Germany
4.7% ABV
11.2 oz bottle
bottled on 10.08

Thanks to Kurgarra U Galatur for bestowing this dainty old world import on us from his most recent New York jaunt. It is slightly metallic (copper?) and delicious. I can see this pairing well with a hearty cassoulet or a handful of Nestle Raisinettes. There is a pervasive sour edge to the brown sugar terra firma of this traditional Altbier. In appearance it is dark brown but not gloomy. The carbonation is muted, just as you wish the two out-of-tune french horns practicing in your basement at night would be.

Think of this beer as a rumpled corduroy shirt that you wear on your tongue.

  1. Glad you liked it, but what kind of photo was that? Were you unmoved by the dead sexy bottle design? ‖)========={{{{{{]
